Miklos Kassai

Consultant

Miklos Kassai

Miklos Kassai is a consultant colorectal surgeon working within the NHS in Jersey. He performs the full range of large bowel and rectal surgery as well as minor anal surgeries. He has 22 years experience in surgery. He qualified as a European Colorectal Surgeon in 2003. His current interest is laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, and most of his cases including cancer operations are done this way. Read more.

Cate Goode

Colorectal Nurse Specialist

Cate Goode is a ColoRectal and Stoma Care Clinical Nurse Speciaist. Cate qualified as a registered general nurse in her home land, Scotland in 1988, moving to Jersey in 1991. Cate worked on the general surgical ward at Jersey General Hospital for 9 years before specialising as the ColoRectal and Stoma Care Nurse Specialist. Cate currently provides support for all persons (service users and professionals) within the ColoRectal and Stoma Care.
Since her appointment in 2000, Cate has completed her BSc (Hons) in Health Care Studies and is currently studying ColoRectal Nursing at Masters level. Cate has spoken locally, nationally and internationally and has published in Gastrointestinal Nursing

Sam Riou

Samantha Riou

Sam Riou is a Sister. Sam qualified as a Registered Nurse (Adult) as part of the Jersey – Southampton partnership in 1994 and has since spent most of her time within the scope of surgical nursing, incuding a short term secondment to the Colorectal and Stoma Care department. Sam was appointed as Sister in 2006 and has since completed her BSc (Hons) in Health and Social Care, and a post qualifiying module in Stoma Care.
Sam has taught locally both at ColoRectal and Stoma Care conferences and as part of the vocational team within Jersey General Hospital.
